De Garre
De Garre
Stylish, classic brown café.
Jezza says
Another Brugge beer institution, De Garre is located up a tiny alleyway off the street (Briedelstraat) which links Markt and Burg. The pub now has three levels, and you can often find all of them so packed that all seats are taken and you can’t get a table (no standing is allowed). In these circumstances it pays to ask others if you can share their table, as most people are quite accommodating. The list runs to over 150 beers, all served with style on a little tray with some nibbles of cheese. The draft list includes an 11% house tripel from Van Steenberge, which has been back on fine form on recent visits. Stay late for the playing of the Bolero which signifies closing time (though note the new, early closing times on Mon-Tue).
